Happy Crafters is an online crafting company run by Sarah Hutson. Visit their booth at In the MKNG™ to see and shop a variety of heat transfer vinyl (HTV) and adhesive vinyl.
It all started in 1997 when Sarah’s mom started her own trophy business. It took less than two years for her mom’s main source of income to become t-shirts. Sarah’s mom always bragged that she never had a late order, but that didn’t mean everything was easy. Sarah was there for all the long nights of weeding, products not working, vinyl not sticking, and companies not caring that her mom had orders to get out the order and a reputation to maintain.
Usually, products worked the way they should, orders came and went without issue, and life was great, but in those moments when nothing seemed to go right, Sarah was there to see the tears and frustration that her mom went through. Sarah was there to see her mom’s orders come in late and watch her stay up all night just to get her customer their products on time. She was there to hear her mom call vinyl suppliers and manufacturers when vinyl just wasn’t working correctly, and she was there to hear them treat her mom like she had no idea what she was doing. When later they found out that the vinyl was indeed defective, Sarah learned a valuable lesson about customer service.
Sarah started selling vinyl because she knew she could do it better. She knew that all customers deserve to be heard and valued, just like her mom deserved. She understood that you could use the same product 1,000 times but for some reason, try 1,001 may not go your way. She understood that customers have deadlines to meet and reputations to maintain.
Sarah’s mom passed away on November 18th, 2015 and as she wished, they sold the business. Sarah kept all of those valuable lessons in mind while running Happy Crafters. She recognizes that you have deadlines, you run a business, and you need a vinyl supplier to have your back when things don’t go as planned. Happy Crafters isn’t perfect, we make mistakes, but if we do, we promise we will make those right. Sarah promises to treat each and every one of you how she wanted her mother to be treated on those late nights of heat pressing.
